On February 11, in Ea Rok commune, Dak Lak province, Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the inter-level boarding primary and lower secondary school in Ea Rok commune. This project is of particular importance, contributing to improved learning conditions for students in border areas, especially children of ethnic minority communities who continue to face difficulties.

Also attending the program were Politburo members: Comrade Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; Comrade Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission; Comrade Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Party Central Office; Comrade General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defence; Comrade General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; and Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee.
Also present were Comrade Nguyen Duc Hai, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Comrade Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister; members of the Party Central Committee; and representatives of central committees, ministries, sectors and agencies.

The Ea Rok inter-level boarding primary and lower secondary school project is being implemented under the Politburo's new policy to invest in the construction of 248 inter-level boarding primary and lower secondary schools in inland border communes. The project is planned on a land area of 5.97 hectares, with a total floor area of more than 12,173 square meters. The works include seven main items together with a synchronized auxiliary infrastructure system, from one to three storeys in height, meeting standards of functionality, safety and a modern school environment.

Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, reported on the project’s implementation status.
According to the design, the school will have 18 classes, accommodating the study and living needs of approximately 630 students. The primary level comprises 10 classes (an average of 35 students per class), while the lower secondary level comprises 8 classes (two classes per grade). Each grade will be organized into two classes, ensuring teaching and learning conditions as prescribed.
The project is managed by the General Staff as the investor, with a total investment of VND 150 billion funded by enterprises under the Ministry of National Defence.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that implementing the construction of an inter-level boarding school to ensure students’ learning, living and training conditions is very necessary, in line with the aspirations of the people and the locality’s development needs. The Ea Rok Commune Inter-level Boarding Primary and Lower Secondary School project is not only a school construction project but also a work of profound social significance, demonstrating the Party’s and the State’s care for the children of ethnic minority communities in disadvantaged areas.
Once completed and put into operation, with a capacity to serve nearly 700 students from Ea Rok commune and neighboring areas, the new school will establish a relatively integrated environment for learning, living and training, contributing to the students’ comprehensive development in knowledge, skills, physical fitness and character. At the same time, this project will help bring about an important shift in local education development, nurture local human resources, gradually raise educational attainment, improve the quality of the workforce, promote socio-economic development, enhance the people’s material and spiritual lives, and preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups.

The General Secretary also acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ministry of National Defense for proactively mobilizing resources to directly invest in and organize the construction of the Ea Rok Commune Inter-level Boarding Primary and Lower Secondary School. This is a practical action reflecting the military's sense of responsibility, solidarity, and accompaniment with localities and ethnic minority areas still facing difficulties; contributing together with the Party and the State to caring for education and training for the sustainable development of the country and strengthening national defense and security.

Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Comrade General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, presented Tet gifts to the Party Committee, the people, and the students of Ea Rok commune.
To ensure the project's timely completion and effectiveness, the General Secretary requested the Ministry of National Defense to continue coordinating with Dak Lak province and relevant agencies to carry out construction in accordance with the schedule, quality standards, and technical safety requirements so that the children can have new school facilities in the upcoming academic year. At the same time, investment resources should be managed and used effectively, and the project's functionality maximized after completion.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented Tet gifts to the Party Committee, the people and the students of Ea Rốk commune; he also presented gifts to 30 students who overcame difficulties and achieved good academic results and to 20 policy beneficiary families in difficult circumstances in Ea Rok commune.
