Dak Lak expands cooperation with UAE across three strategic pillars

On the morning of May 4, Mr. Do Huu Huy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee had a working session with a delegation from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Vietnam, led by Dr. Bader Almatrooshi, Ambassador of the UAE to Vietnam to discuss as well as explore cooperation opportunities in the coming period.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Do Huu Huy emphasized that the Ambassador’s visit opens up new prospects for cooperation as both sides are entering a strategic phase of development. He added that Dak Lak is expanding its development space by enhancing linkages between the Central Highlands and the coastal region, thereby creating a foundation for a more diversified economy with considerable growth potential.

Dak Lak province has proposed three strategic pillars for cooperation with the UAE in energy security, food security, and green economic development integrated with digital transformation.
Regarding energy, the province aims to cooperate in researching and developing the coastal deep-water port area into a regional-scale energy storage and distribution hub, thereby helping to ensure stable supply chains for the market.

In terms of agriculture, the province highlighted its advantage of having vast raw material areas for coffee, seafood, and high-tech agriculture - all of which meet the requirements for building a high-quality Halal food supply chain.
Dak Lak called on UAE investors to participate in planning specialized agricultural zones and committed to allocating land funds and offering preferential policies to become a strategic supplier for the UAE market.
In parallel, Dak Lak proposed collaboration on developing data centers and Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects powered by renewable energy.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Bader Almatrooshi, Ambassador of the UAE to Vietnam, highly valued Dak Lak’s development potential and advantages, particularly in the fields of energy, agriculture, and technology. He expressed a strong desire to promote connectivity and soon concretize these investment opportunities.
Both sides agreed to maintain communication, research the establishment of a joint working group, and organize field surveys to realize these cooperative contents in the near future.
