On the morning of July 13, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee (PPC) held a conference to review its performance in the first half of 2026 and outline key tasks for the remaining months of the year. The meeting was held both in person and online, connecting the provincial venue with localities across the province.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dak Lak PPC, along with Vice Chairpersons Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, Nguyen Thien Van, Truong Cong Thai, Dao My and Y Nhuan Bya.

Overview of the conference
According to reports presented at the conference, Dak Lak recorded stable socio-economic development and encouraging results in the first six months of 2026. The economic growth is estimated at 7.84 percent. Agricultural production remained stable, with major crops such as coffee, pepper and durian. Industrial production recovered steadily, driven by solid growth in several manufacturing and processing sectors. Trade, services and tourism continued to perform strongly. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 15.74 percent, export turnover rose by 3.8 percent, tourist arrivals grew by 37.2 percent, and tourism revenue surged by 37.9 percent compared with the same period last year.
State budget revenue and expenditure were managed effectively, with state budget revenue increasing by 3.05 per cent compared with the same period last year. The investment and business environment continued to improve, as the number of newly established enterprises rose sharply and more investors, corporations and businesses explored investment opportunities in the province. At the Dak Lak Provincial Planning Announcement and Investment Promotion Conference, the provincial leaders granted investment approvals, survey approvals and memoranda of understanding to 103 investors for 147 projects. Authorities also intensified efforts to support businesses and investors while accelerating public investment disbursement, infrastructure development, land clearance and the resolution of bottlenecks affecting key projects.
Culture, education, healthcare and social welfare continued to improve, contributing to better living standards. Administrative reform, digital transformation and the restructuring of the administrative system were carried forward, helping improve the efficiency of public administration and the quality of services for people and businesses. National defence, security and social order remained stable, creating favourable conditions for socio-economic development.
Despite these achievements, the province continued to face a number of challenges. Economic growth remained below the target, while agricultural production continued to face risks from weather conditions, disease outbreaks and market fluctuations. Industrial production grew steadily, but some sectors were affected by rising input costs, weak demand and supply chain disruptions. State budget revenue, particularly revenue from land use, fell short of expectations. Businesses continued to face difficulties, while public investment disbursement, although improving, was still slowed by procedural issues, land clearance, planning and compensation bottlenecks.
At the conference, delegates discussed measures to accelerate public investment disbursement, remove bottlenecks affecting delayed projects and adjust development planning. They also proposed solutions to streamline the administrative apparatus at the commune and ward levels, improve healthcare services through regular health check-ups and screening programmes, develop distinctive tourism products, stimulate domestic consumption, promote trade, expand export markets, and speed up the implementation of national target programmes for the 2026-2030 period.

Mr. Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, addresses the conference
Addressing the conference, Dak Lak PPC Chairman Do Huu Huy said the province's GRDP growth target of 10.02 per cent for 2026 would require stronger efforts from all levels and sectors. He called for more effective governance, greater administrative discipline and a stronger focus on delivering tangible results.
He asked departments, sectors and localities to review their work plans for the remainder of the year, remove obstacles to growth and clearly define responsibilities, implementation timelines and expected outcomes. He stressed that performance should be the key criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of each agency and its leadership.
The Chairman also urged local authorities to update growth scenarios for the second half of the year, accelerate public investment disbursement, resolve land clearance bottlenecks, strengthen budget revenue collection, make more efficient use of public assets and development resources, continue administrative reform, improve the investment and business environment, simplify administrative procedures and shorten processing times for investment, land, construction, environmental, planning, social housing and business-related procedures.
He also called for greater efforts to mobilise social resources, foster new growth drivers and promote sustainable agricultural development by shifting from a production-based approach to an agriculture-economy model that is market-oriented and focused on quality and product traceability. He also stressed the need to strengthen administrative discipline and improve accountability across the public sector.
Dak Lak PPC Chairman Do Huu Huy expressed confidence that, with the determination of the entire political system, the business community and local people, and under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Dak Lak would overcome difficulties, make the most of its development opportunities and fulfil its socio-economic development targets for 2026. He added that achieving these targets would create a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the province's five-year socio-economic development plan.
