Dak Lak strengthens special relationship and comprehensive cooperation with Lao provinces

A provincial working delegation, led by Mr. Y Giang Gry Nie Knong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak Province, paid courtesy calls and extended New Year greetings to the Party, authorities and people of Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan, Champasak, and Savannakhet provinces on the occasion of Laos’ traditional New Year festival Bunpimay in early April.

At the meetings, leaders of the Lao provinces expressed their pleasure at welcoming the delegation and provided updates on their socio-economic situation. They affirmed their consistent policy of attaching importance to and further strengthening the comprehensive cooperation with Dak Lak province. Both sides exchanged views on orientations for cooperation in key areas, including agriculture, energy, trade, logistics, tourism, and infrastructure connectivity.

The Dak Lak delegation highly appreciated the positive developments in bilateral cooperation in recent years, particularly in investment, trade, education, and people-to-people exchanges. The two sides agreed to continue effectively implementing existing cooperation agreements and to actively coordinate in reviewing and formulating orientations for the next phase of cooperation, with a view to enhancing trade turnover, promoting investment projects, and expanding technical cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation also met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Champasak Province. The Vietnamese community has maintained stable livelihoods, upheld cultural traditions, and complied with the laws of the host country, thereby contributing to fostering the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Viet Nam and Laos.

The delegation visits and works with the Vietnamese Association in Champasak Province.
The visit contributed to further consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and between Dak Lak and the Lao provinces in particular, in a more substantive, effective, and sustainable manner.
